Arrival steps

  1. Arrive at 48a Shotover Street, Queenstown 9300.
  2. Use the entrance next to the Night 'n Day Supermarket and shown in the photo.
  3. Please make sure you are on Shotover Street, not Beach Street, as Google Maps can occasionally be misleading.
  4. Send a WhatsApp message so we can add you to the group chat and send you the door code.
  5. If you experience any issues on arrival, contact us on +64 27 359 8318.

Check-in is between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Please confirm your expected arrival time in advance.

House Rules

Quiet hours are 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Please keep voices, calls, music, and doors quiet. The complete set of house rules can be found in the Rules and Regulations document.

Visitor rules

  • Visitors are welcome from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
  • Visitors must sign in and out at reception.
  • A maximum of two visitors is allowed per resident.
  • Visitors may use common areas only and are not permitted in dorm rooms.
  • Do not share the door code.
  • Overnight stays require prior manager approval and are subject to a special rate.

Respectful behaviour

Be considerate of other residents and leave shared spaces ready for the next person.


Parties and harassment

No parties, harassment, fighting, or threatening behaviour.


Security

Lock doors behind you and never.


Smoking and vaping

Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the property.

Bedrooms

Eatings is not permitted in bedrooms.
The use of Cooking appliances, candles, incense, or any naked flames is forbidden in bedrooms.


Room cleanliness

Residents must clean and vacuum their rooms and bathrooms regularly.
Bedroom inspections are conducted every 3โ€“4 weeks to ensure a suitable level of cleanliness is maintained.


Enforcement & Three-strike policy

Breaches of the house rules are subject to our three-strike policy.

Please note: Management reserves the right to directly evict any tenant for major infringements.

Payment

Bond

A bond equal to one week's rent must be paid before check-in.

Initial payment

Payment is to be made by card or EFTPOS only. Cash is not accepted.

Ongoing rent

Rent will be deducted from your wages each Tuesday following the initial payment.

Rooms

Room description All rooms are 9 mยฒ and have an ensuite bathroom. Three different room types are available, depending on availability.

Kitchen & Lounge Communal Spaces

Kitchen hours

The Kitchen and Lounge are open 24/7 however, between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM, only the microwave, kettle, and toaster may be used.

Alcohol is not permitted in these areas after 11:00 PM.

Cooking safety

Residents must stay in the kitchen while cooking, and never leave the stove, oven, or other cooking appliances running unattended.

Eating areas

All food must be eaten in the Lounge. Food is not permitted to be eaten in bedrooms or corridors.

Clean as you go

Wash your dishes and wipe down benches, stovetops, and other surfaces immediately after use. Leave the kitchen clean and ready for the next person.

Fridge

Label all food with your name and room number. Unlabelled food may be removed. Stickers are available for the fridge and freezer.

Freezer

Freezer space rotates every 10 days. Keep items labelled and clear your freezer space when your rotation ends.

Kitchen balcony

The balcony is open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with a maximum of eight people at a time.

Laundry

Washers & Dryers

Using each machine costs $4 ($2 x 2 coins). Please use a normal cycle for clothes, up to a maximum load weight of 5kg.


Iron & Ironing Board

An iron and ironing board are located in the laundry room and are available for use.

Laundry room rules

Laundry room is open from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Do not leave items overnight. Unattended items will be removed.

Clean the lint filter and remove your items promptly when finished.

Cleaning, Recycling & Rubbish

Accommodation cleanliness

All areas of the accommodation, including bedrooms, corridors and shared spaces, must be kept clean and tidy at all times.

Failure to maintain an acceptable standard of cleanliness may result in a formal warning or action under the strike policy.

Taking bins out

Tenants are responsible for emptying both their bedroom bins (at least weekly) and the kitchen bins.

All full bags must be taken to the main bins next to reception.

Tenants must supply their own bedroom bin bags. Kitchen bin bags are provided in the kitchen.

Management is not responsible for removing rubbish or cleaning up after tenants.

Red lid

General rubbish and non-recyclable waste, including soft plastics.

Yellow lid

Mixed recycling: clean paper, cardboard, steel and aluminium cans, and plastics.

Blue lid

Glass bottles and jars only.

Common mistakes

Recycling contaminated with food waste cannot be recycled. Empty and rinse containers before placing them in the recycling bin.


Place recyclable items loose in the recycling bin. Do not put plastic bags containing recycling into the bin.

Checkout & Bond

Bond refund checklist To ensure your bond is refunded in full, please complete the following before departure.

Room checklist

  • All linen has been removed from the bed, washed, dried, and folded, and returned to reception. (Failure to clean/return linen: $40 deduction)
  • The room is clean, tidy and vacuumed. (Failure to clean: $50 deduction)
  • If you occupied a full room, it must be completely empty and left in the same condition as when you arrived. (Failure to return to original state: $50 deduction)
  • All rubbish has been removed. (Failure to remove rubbish: $20 deduction)
  • All personal belongings have been removed. (Failure to remove belongings: $30 deduction)

Kitchen

  • Return clean food baskets to reception and clean your allocated fridge space.(Failure to clean kitchen: $30 deduction)
  • Any kitchen items have been taken with you or donated to the communal food box. (Failure remove kitchen items: $30 deduction)

Keys

  • Keys must be returned to reception. (Failure to return key: $30 deduction)
  • If checking out before 9:00 AM or the reception is closed, leave the key through the gate.

Checkout inspection

Checkout Inspections: Weekday checkouts are inspected on the departure day; weekend checkouts are inspected the following Monday.

Bond Redund

Once the checkout inspection is complete and all requirements are met, your bond will be refunded directly to your card. Please note that processing may take up to 10 working days.

Notice to vacate

Please provide four (4) weeks' notice if you decide to vacate the accommodation.

What if I lose my key?

Pick up a copy from Novotel and bring it back immediately to avoid a $30 charge.

What if WiFi is not working?

Check the WiFi details on the inside of your room door, then forget the network and reconnect.

How do I report maintenance?

Report maintenance issues to the manager via WhatsApp. Manager hours are listed on the board in reception.
